Twitrans is a free service launched today by OneHourTranslation.com which allows the users of twitter to send personal tweets or messages in different languages other than english. The company claims that the translation is being done by human translators so it always frames correct sentences.
So if you want to send a short messages to any of your friend who is an Indian and speaks Hindi then you can follow this process: Send a Twitter short message to @twitrans followed by the translation requested
(English(en) to Hindi(hi) is en2hi).
A sample text message is “@twitrans en2hi Testing how twitrans works in Hindi”. You need to wait for few minutes because Twitrans route the message to their translators at OneHourTranslation.com. You’ll receive a response from them as “Human translation started. You’ll receive the translation here in a few minutes. Thank you!”.
The translation is also available at user’s Twitter home page as well as in recipient’s account.
Twitrans has translation service in Arabic-ar, Chinese-zh, Dutch-nl, English-en, French-fr, German-de, Greek-el, Hebrew-he, Hindi-hi, Italian-it, Japanese-jp, Portuguese-pt, Russian-ru, Spanish-es.
