Ulyssee Nardin, a renowned Swiss watchmaker has collaborated with European company SCI Innovations for introducing world’s first luxary hybrid smart phone. The handset was first demonstrated at the Baselworld watch and jewellery show 2009 held in Switzerland during 26th March – 2nd April 2009. Ulyssee Nardin, is best known as a manufacturer of marine chronometers and luxury watches. The device is functioned by the kinetic energy provided by highly specialized Ulyssee Nardin rotor. The smart-phone is powered by a built-in rotary kinetic winder mechanism that is the source of charges of the phone battery.
The inbuilt battery of the Ulyssee Nardin Chairman phone utilizes the kinetic energy generated using the motion of the rotor. So the user of this device never thinks of forgetting charging the cell battery causing battery down of the cell phone because the motion of the rotor already charges it. So this doesn’t require replacing the battery ever. The rotor is part of the design and it is visible behind the back of the phone.
Although given the name ‘hybrid smart phone’, the handset is operated by a functional technology that is used in a mechanical wristwatch to work. The handset is so powerful and it is compatible with all type of network. The Ulyssee Nardin Chairman mobile phone claims that it can work in any mobile network in the world. Unlike other standard cell phones, the Chairman stands separate among the group because of its technology of power generation from motion itself.
