Review of Coby MP600 PMP

coby-mp600For the past few years, Apple is dominating the Portable Media Player ( PMP ) market with various versions of iPod player. With various version of iPod player, Apple has put a challenge to many of  the other electronics companies like philips, SanDisk, Microsoft Zune, Samsung to move its dominant position of the iPod’s, but to no avail. But this doesn’t mean that these companies have stopped  trying. Coby is such a company who has the reputation of developing creative PMP at an affordable price and also an iPod killer in developing such PMPs.

The latest model from Coby is MP600, which is almost equivalent in many respect to the latest iPod Nano. The outside design completely matches the design of iPod Nano. It will definitely catch your eyes with its ultra slim design and finishing. The Coby MP600 portable media player comes with controls that are very smooth and easy to use.  The player features a 1.44 inch CSTN LCD having  resolution of 128 x 128 and an integrated FM tuner. It also supports photos( JPEG), videos ( MTV ) and MP3 and WMA for audio as well. It stores meda files in the inbuilt flash memory having capacity up to 4GB of storage. For connectivity with PC or laptop it uses USB 2.0 for high speed file transfer. All these features make Coby MP600 a complete portable digital entertainment device.

It has support for song and lyric display using ID3 and LRC. The supported OS are Windows Vista / XP / 2000 and supported languages includes English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian and German.

Using Coby’s MP600, anybody can carry the entire digital entertainment library on the road. The device is slow slim having dimension of 1.57 x 3.12 x 0.41 inches (W x H x D).  An integrated rechargeable 300 mAh Lithium Polymer battery powers the device with an audio playing time of 10 hour. It has a very affordable price of USD $20 for the 2GB model and USD $29.99 for the 4GB.

    just bought the Coby MP600 2G mp3 player .. have to say i love it! sounds awesome. and so easy to use. i did have to use my own Sony MDR-G57 head phones to get a good sound but hey for the price .. lovin it! i only play music with it so dont use other features .. radio is very nice too .. simple and sounds very good. i actually am amazed how good this little player sounds with my Sony head set. drag and drop your files and good to go .. to make a play list use the music organizing software that comes with it and select the songs for a play list and name it in genre Craigs fav or whatever .. ez. lovin it! off to Hawaii to est the battery life :)

    update- just got back from Hawaii .. loving this little thing! the battery life is amazing playing only audio mp3’s .. i dont use the other stuff. it lists a 12 hour play time for audio .. well i swear it kept goin and goin .. thought maybe i got a magic one .. only had to recharge it once during the whole week in Hawaii and i played it alot. love the sound! totally awsome with my Sony MDR – G57 headphones . drag and drop files to this device and your good to go .. ez. 2 BIG thumbs up for Coby! sound is amazing and tons of volume. 1000 songs on the 2 gb player. lovin it for the $25 i paid .
