CompuLab has recently released fit-PC2, which is being dubbed as the smallest PC in the world. Its dimensions are 4”x4.5”x1.05”, this makes it smaller than a CD. Compulab is a company which excels in making “Computer on Module” boards” or (CoM); these are tiny single board computers. Compulab had also launched in the market the fit-PC Slim— the tiniest PC on 500MHz Intel AMD processor and 512MB RAM.


 Most of the net PCs have a combination of Intel Atom N270 and 945G chipset which attributes to a low power consumption. But fit-PC2 is ahead of the other netPCs in terms of power efficiency. This is due to the Intel US15W SCH Chipset in the PC. This chipset along with 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor reduces power consumption of fit-PC2 by more than two-thirds as compared to other netPCs. This tiny PC can also be powered by 1.1 GHz Intel 510 processor. The Intel US15W also gives hardware video acceleration which enables the fit-pc2 to run Windows XP or Ubuntu Linux at just 6W and even play full HD 1080p H.264 video at less than 7W of power.Fit-PC2 is powered by either

Fit-PC2 operates quietly with no fan in it. Heat dissipation is done through the all-aluminum case of the PC. If an SSD is used instead of HDD; this machine becomes totally noiseless. Finless with solid state disk makes this tiniest PC more reliable due to absence of any movable parts. The die-cast aluminum body of this PC can with stand high level of shocks, vibrations and extreme temperatures.

Other hardware specifications of fit-PC2 are 1.66GHz x86 CPU, 1GB RAM, SATA Hard Disk, built-in Wi-Fi, six USB ports. Fit-PC2 is compatible with most of the popular operating systems.
