SONY has put together a marvelous SONY X1000 Walkman. This 3-inch device will be an i-Pod owners envy because this DAP sports a gorgeous OLED touch screen with in-built noise cancellation technology which the i-Pods doesn’t possess.
This is infact the first Walkman to be Wi-Fi enabled. The in-built noise cancellation is also the first-ever feature in a Walkman. It generates counter-tones to eliminate noise. It also has special noise filters for airplanes. Other notable features are— walkman-specific net browser, You Tube support, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, wireless podcast delivery, FM tuner and 1 seg TV tuner. The sound quality offered by Sony is unbeatable. This Walkman has DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) and plays almost all the major audio (MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV) and video formats like AVC, H.264, MPEG4, and WMV.
SONY X1000 will be available in two flavors—the 16GB NW-X1050 and the 32GB NW-X1060. Each model is available in two colors Red and Black. The only difference in the two models is their flash memory capacity of 16GB and 32 GB respectively. The 3” WQVGA touch screen in SONY X1000 is highly responsive with a resolution of 232×240 pixels. The OLED display consumes less power. The storage and battery are not removable which is disappointing. It has a Li-on rechargeable battery which can be charged from the USB port. This Walkman can play 33 hours of music playback and 9 hours of video playback. It can even be operated from a pocket by pressing a button
