Philips is a niche player in the electronics products and gadgets. Recently they have added more value to their new range (GoGear) of inexpensive mp3 players or portable media player range by introducing Philips GoGear Aria. The 8GB version of GoGear Aria would cost $80 whereas the 16GB model would cost $100 only.
The player looks very handy and impressive with its curvaceous and glossy finishing. The casing is available in black and gray color. The music navigation panel is very easy. If you are comfortable with cell phone having music capability or any PMP then you can smoothly operate the player. Even the novice or first time user won’t face any problem to operate this gadget. As you can see in the picture the 4 way navigational array has surrounded the large play button which also acts as the selection key while navigating menus or items.
The player can be used to view images also. It supports popular image formats. The color display is only 2 inch size with resolution of 220 X 176 pixels. The player stands out in the same category PMP because of its high quality ear birds and Rhapsody music subscription DNA. Rhapsody subscriber can best use the player with advanced feature dedicated to Rhapsody.
The player supports only MP3 and WMA music formats. There is no support for OGG Vorbis or WAV or FLAC formats like the other competitor players. Philips claims that the pmp can play music for 30 hours long and 6 hours of video.
