Yes the popular Google Calendar was missing this for a long time and Google heard us back. Gmail just announced that now .ics file can be added directly to the Google Calendar with a single click and no need to download it to user’s PC and later import it. This is no doubt the Gmail users are looking for a long time as it can help adding events and meetings easily in the Google Calendar directly. Gmail will automatically detect the event (*.ics) in email and display an “Add to Google Calendar” button as seen in the picture. Clicking on it the event will be added instantly in Google Calendar.
